Barty became the first Australian to win the Aussie Open since Chris O’Neil, who won it all in 1978. This, despite Australia owning the most overall titles with 44. Naomi Osaka is the only Japanese player on either the men’s or women’s tours to win the Aussie Open.
With Sabalenka’s win in 2023, Belarus now has three titles to their name.
