- Mar. 26, 2024: With less than a month left in the regular season, the same four teams have solidified themselves as NBA Championship favorites; the Celtics (+212), Nuggets (+311), Clippers (+532), and Bucks (+725) are the only teams with odds shorter than +1000.

Denver Nuggets (+475)
Coming off their first championship in team history, the Denver Nuggets are slight favorites to repeat in the 2023-24 NBA season. The Nuggets were dominant at home in Denver all throughout the regular season and continued that into the playoffs, losing just once on their home court. Unless the NBA can solve the riddle of the Nuggets at home, they will remain a massive problem for the rest of the league if they manage to grab the #1 seed in the Western Conference again.
Boston Celtics (+538)
While some sportsbooks list the Milwaukee Bucks ahead of the Boston Celtics, the C’s are, on average, the second-favorite to win the 2024 NBA title. Boasting two All-NBA level talents in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics finished one game back of the Bucks for the best record in the NBA last year and had the best point differential in the Association (by over a point). Advanced metrics still say the Celtics are the best team in the league, even if they seem to have trouble parlaying that dominance into consistent postseason performances.
Milwaukee Bucks (+625)
The Milwaukee Bucks showed just how heavily depended they are on Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2023 playoffs. When their star was laboring with a back injury, the Bucks bowed out quietly to the Miami Heat in just five games in the first round. But at full strength, this is still arguably the best team in the league, as they showed with an NBA-best 58-24 record last year.
How to Bet on the NBA Finals

Moneyline
The easiest NBA bet available is the moneyline, and it’s also the most common. When you bet the moneyline, you’re betting on who will win the game straight up. The margin of victory does not matter.
Reading moneyline odds is straightforward. Whichever team has a “+” number next to it is the underdog, while the team with a “-” next to it is the favorite. The associated numbers indicate the implied probability that the sports betting site has assigned to each team’s chances of winning the game. The best odds can also be used to calculate your prospective winnings.
Point Spread
If you place a spread bet on the favorite, they have to win by a specified number of points. Conversely, if you bet on the underdog, they have to not lose by the specified number of points.
For example, if the Warriors are -3.5 favorites in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, they would have to win by at least four points for you to win your bet on Golden State. If you took the opponent +3.5, they would have to lose by three points or less for you to cash your ticket.
You can also bet point spreads in live betting, and watch for them to change before the games begin due to injury news or an influx of money being bet on one side or the other.
Total Points
Totals betting (also known as over/under betting) is also relatively straightforward. Simply put, you are placing a bet on the total points scored in a game. Calculate the total score by adding the points each team scored together.
In our example, the total is set at 210.5. If you bet on the over, you’re betting that Golden State and Boston’s combined final scores will be more than 210.5 points. Just like placing a bet against the spread, half-points are used to avoid the possibility of a push, or tie.

With fantasy sports exploding, player prop betting has seen an equal rise in popularity amongst NBA bettors. This includes wagering on specific players or events within games.
You can bet on player points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made and defensive stats – as well as combos of all put together for most of the top player in any NBA Finals game.
